Revolutionary War Pension and Widowers Pension Records.

The notes, if any, found below the Pensioner's name, are notes from the information found in the attached pension records on that individual.  In some cases more is known about the pensioner, but I am only including the notes for what can be found in this particular documentation.

Aaron Stacy of Burke County, North Carolina Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 19,118

Born 1760 St. Marys County, Maryland. d. June 17, 1834 Burke County, North Carolina.  Married Nancy Bullock (b. 1763) on December 13, 1779 in Hailfax County, North Carolina.  He lived in Greenville, North Carolina when he first enlisted into the service, and a various times in the following years he resided at times in Virginia.  In 1821 he moved to Burke County, North Carolina, and remained there until his death.

Amos Stacy of Taunton, Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 25,097

Married Abigail Burt of Norton, Mass on April 8, 1790 in Taunton, Mass.  Amos died on March 8, 1812 in Taunton, Mass.  Abigail was born in 1764 and died October 11, 1850.  As of 1838 their only surviving children were Asa Stacy born 1801, Abigail Stacy Shores, Lucy, Abel and Polly.

Benjamin Stacy of New Salem, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # R 10,029

Born 1762 in New Salem, Hampshire County, Mass.  Son of William Stacy who was a Lt. Caleb Stacy of Hampton County, Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 15,371

Ebenezer Stacy of Middlesex County, Massachusetts Pension Records. File # W 22,327 

Married Rebecca Sawtell (b. 1763) on September 23, 1784.  Enlisted as a soilder in Lynn, Mass.  At the time of his pension application he was residing in Stoddard, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. Ebenezer Stacy of Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # S 41,201

Ebenezer was born in 1760, and at the time of his pension request resided in Windsor County, Vermont.  His family consists of a wife (b. 1772) and five children: 

  1. Fanny b. 1801,
  2. Lorin b. 1803,
  3. Betsy b. 1805,
  4. John b. 1808,
  5. Sally b. 1816.

Job Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 23,337

Married Betsey Howard (b. 1769) in Taunton, Mass on June 7, 1790.  After Job's death, Betsey remarried to Joseph Howard on September 1829 in Taunton, Mass.  Job died on February 7, 1828, in Taunton.  Children named in the Pension file are:

John Stacy of Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # S 33,733

John Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 16,423

He was born on September 12, 1761 and died on May 4, 1835 in Oswego County, New York.  He married Mary McNeil on May 11, 1790.  Mary was born on June 24, 1767 and died July 24, 1841.  Children according to his bible records:

Under the marriage portion is another marriage for a John M. Stacy (his son whose birth record in not shown in the Bible pages provided but mentioned as being their child) married to Amanda R. Roberts on March 22, 1837.

John Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 15,378

John was born October 23, 1754 d. 8/2/1804 in Essex County, Mass.  Widow:  Nancy Stacy, born July 31, 1754 and died December 22, 1841 in Mass.  They married April 11, 1775 at Hampton Falls in New Hampshire d. 12/22/1841 Marblehead, Mass.  According to their family Bible:  Children listed:

In 1835 he was a resident of Chittenden County, Vermont and a tailor by trade. John was born in 1760 in Worchester County, Mass and died on December 4, 1846 at the residence of his son Henry B. Stacy. Married Mary Polly Baldwin on June 24, 1788 in Worchester, Mass.  Mary was born in 1765.  Children mentioned:

Moses Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 19,408

Molton "aka Mahlon" Stacy of Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # S 36,807

He signed his name Molton, but stated he is often known as Mahlon  b. 1765.  In 1822 is a resident of Washington County, Vermont and a farmer by trade.  States that his wife Abigail (b. 1772) is not able to care for herself. Nathaniel Stacy  of Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # S 33,798

Nymphus Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 25,154

Oliver Stacy of New York Pension Records.  File # R 10,030.

Oliver Stacy had a son named Orrin Stacy, and a grandson named H. T. Stacy.  There are more children, but they are not listed in his pension file.  Oliver died in 1822 and his “widow” died in 1825. Page 1  Page 2  Page 3  Page 4  Page 5  Page 6 

Rufus Stacy of Massachusetts Pension Records.  File # S 33,714

Samuel Jacob Stacy of Massachusetts Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 6,193

Thomas Stacy of Pennsylvania Widowers Pension Records.  File # W 6,192

Married Mary Watkins (b. 1766) on August 14, 1788.  When Mary filed for pension in 1844 she was a resident of Hamilton County, Ohio.  Thomas was born March 9, 1755 in England and came to America in 1773.  He died on October 14, 1837 in Hamilton County, Ohio.
