Edith Stacy Scott
At the age of 93, cousin Edith Stacy Scott passed away on February 9, 2009. She was a wonderful woman, and touched the hearts of everyone she met. The picture below was provided by Edith's niece, Rose Scott though Mary Jane. Thank you Mary Jane for everything you have done for Edith, and us. If there are any of you that would like to share something about Edith, please pass it along to me, as I would like to place a tribute to her in the next issue of the newsletter. Well miss you Edith, but we know your smiling down on us saying, "I know who his father was now!!!"

A Special Thank You
I would like to take a moment to say a special thank you to James and Debbie Stacey of Texas. Since I began doing Stacy research in 1996, I have met so many cousins online which has made this all worth while. But about 4 years ago I met James and Debbie online. It began as email exchanges, then progressed to phone calls, and finally, to the shock of my family and uncles in Texas, I decided to go on one of my genealogy trips with them! (I think they all thought I was going to be chopped into a hundred pieces, I know my husband was afraid that I would get in a car wreck if I let James drive due to his old age :) But, I was determined to meet these cousins I had been talking with over the years, and I am so glad that I did. What began as an online communication as turned into a great friendship. Since we met, I dont think a week as gone by that we dont talk on the phone 2 or 3 times that week, we have driven for HOURS across all the southern states, hiked through cemeteries, hills, knocked on strangers doors, crashed funerals, met more cousins in 4 other states, you name it, we did it! And many of these photographs that i will be uploading to the site were taken with James and Debbie right there by my side. A big thank you to James and Debbie Stacey, for all that you have done for me, and all of us, and mostly for being a great friend! Love you guys :)
About Me
As many of you already know, my name is Becky Madruga, and I have been researching our family tree for several years now, and recently decided to start a family website to share with others what i have been fortunate enough to find on our family!!! One great thing about hosting a website is being able to brag on your children!! My oldest son Jordon is 13 years old, and loves to skate!! I have spent countless hours taking him to skate parks and building him ramps to skate on. The most recent ramp we built him was a half pipe in our back yard, and let me tell you, it looked smaller on the paper!! I made a video a year ago for him to put on his myspace page (gotta love teenagers), and I am very proud of all the little tricks that he can do. If language bothers you, please put your volume on mute before playing the video, the song that was used has a few strong words in it, but a great beat.
My youngest son is Taylor, and he will be 3 years old this August (he gives the introduction to his brothers video) and he keeps me young!! He loves to do anything that he is not supposed to do, and keeps us all on our toes!! And when I am not flying all over the southern states looking for my ancestors, sitting in front of the computer transcribing documents, or corresponding with all the great family I have met on the internet over the years, I am running after him!!
